Mia had wanted to plunge headfirst into talking about their exes, the emotional shit she normally adored.

Jealousy scorched her veins, making her feel more possessive than she had in years. Her hand pressed against Sky’s bare skin, the heat and softness making her delirious. Sky might have become the queen of self-sabotage in her relationships, but Mia refused to let the woman push her away.

Even if she needed to play her best friend’s games to get past those walls.

Mia slid her hand down to reach for the hem of Sky’s shirt. She glanced up to meet Sky’s eyes, tilting her head in question. Sky nodded, those umber eyes drenched with desire. Mia’s heart fluttered at the depth of that look. She’d felt like an idiot for missing the clues throughout the years of Sky’s attraction, but now that the light had flickered on… damn. The woman had a way of making her feel like no one else existed.

Honestly, she’d been craving that singular attention more than she would admit. She just wanted someone to look at her like she mattered, like she could be as important in their eyes as they were in hers.

Mia grabbed the hem of Sky’s T-shirt and lifted the worn fabric up and over. She bit back a groan once she tossed it to the ground. Thank fuck this woman never wore a bra. Her tanned skin gleamed in the dim lighting of her living room, and her tits looked goddamn delicious, perfect globes with darker areolas. The way her ink framed either arm amplified the smooth canvas of her skin that Mia was dying to taste. She couldn’t help but notice the words tattooed around her side “Do I Dare Disturb the Universe?” the line so perfect for Skylar Jenkins.

Mia pressed her fingers right in the center of Sky’s chest to give the woman a light push against the futon.

Sky collapsed back, her chest heaving with every breath.

Fucking mesmerizing.

Mia hovered over her to press a kiss to her lips. The moment she leaned down and Sky’s nipples brushed against the thin fabric of her shirt, her desperation to devour this woman grew. Sky tasted like whiskey, sharp and smoky, and Mia couldn’t help but draw another kiss from her lips before she traveled down to scrape her teeth along the side of Sky’s neck.

Sky let out a guttural moan, her hands settling around Mia’s waist. She loved how responsive Sky was to every single touch, how this woman stared at her with a starry-sky yearning that made her somehow feel whole again. Mia nipped and sucked her way down Sky’s neck, brushing her lips against her collarbone as she reached out to circle a hand around one of her breasts.
